How does it work?

Afterpay and Laybuy allow you to split your payment over four fortnightly or six weekly payments with no extra costs, interest free! This is applicable for WOFs, servicing, repairs, parts, and accessories.

How do I sign up?

Sign up for Afterpay by downloading the app to create an account and verify your identity.

Laybuy requires a New Zealand mobile number at the time of purchase. After the purchase, you can create an account to check your payment schedule.

How much can I spend?

This varies on the app and your financial situation. Afterpay gives you an approved limit that you can see on the app before your purchase.

Laybuy runs a credit check and advises you of your limit in the payment schedule sent via SMS at the time of payment. You can spend the approved limit, but the excess will be paid in your first instalment. You are also able to do a split payment.

What fees are involved?

There are no fees for the use of Afterpay or Laybuy. However, both services charge an initial $10 late fee for missed payments and further additional fees if payment is not made within seven days.

Is there a credit check?

Afterpay - Uses a third-party verification service to confirm your identity, but not a credit check.

Laybuy - Performs a credit check on all new users.

How long will it take to use in-store?

If you already have Afterpay or Laybuy, using in-store will be very fast. However, if you don’t currently use either programme, we can quickly help you set up in-store at the time of payment. We suggest downloading the Afterpay app prior to your visit to speed things up.

Do I have to be an existing Afterpay or Laybuy user?

No, you can set everything up at the time of payment. We do suggest installing the Afterpay app prior or registering for Laybuy before heading in to our store, though, to speed up the process.

Can I pay it off earlier?

Yes, you can pay off your instalments before the payment date with both Afterpay and Laybuy.

What happens if I miss a payment?

Both Afterpay and Laybuy charge late and missed payment fees. Pacific Toyota are not involved in any part of this payment process. Please contact Afterpay or Laybuy directly regarding queries concerning payment instalments.
