2014 -2019 Toyota Prius driver’s seatbelt reminder recall

News-Article-Toyota-Logo-950x450

Toyota New Zealand is recalling 124 New Zealand new vehicles due to a potential issue with the driver's seat belt reminder switch. The model affected is the Toyota Prius manufactured between 7th August 2014 and 8th March 2019.

This is a precautionary measure due to the potential of an incorrectly installed reminder switch. In some instances, abnormal wear of the electrical contacts may occur after repeated use of the seat belt, resulting in the seat belt reminder not turning off when the seat belt is correctly fastened.

The remedy will be completed free of charge by Toyota stores and will take approximately 1 hour to complete.

Owners of the vehicles, which are traceable through registration data, will be contacted by Toyota New Zealand through a remedy letter.

For further information please contact: 0800 TOYOTA (0800 869 682) or you can search your registration number here to see if it is involved in the recall.
