It was recently announced by Toyota USA that they would recall 2.3 million vehicles, and also temporarily halt production of eight models in Toyota North American plants.
This action was taken to replace the accelerator pedal which, in rare instances, may mechanically stick in a partially depressed position or only slowly return to the idle position.
Although this matter is still under investigation for models outside the USA, our initial advice from Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), Japan is that this issue does not affect any Toyota models sold in New Zealand or any used vehicles imported from Japan.
