        Toyota Vehicle Recall - Accelerator Pedal Sticking

        TOYOTA VEHICLE RECALL -

         

        ACCELERATOR PEDAL STICKING

        Toyota New Zealand confirmed today that the only model sold in New Zealand affected by this recall is the Europe manufactured Avensis model.

        Paul Carroll, General Manager of After Sales for Toyota New Zealand, said that all other models sold new in New Zealand, as well as all used imported Toyotas from Japan, were unaffected by the recall as the accelerator pedal used on these models was sourced from a different manufacturer than the affected units.

        Toyota New Zealand is waiting for advice on individual Avensis units affected, but it is expected to number around 60 vehicles. The owners will then be contacted directly by the company. ''The risk of any owner encountering a problem is very small, said Mr Carroll, as in the whole of Europe only 26 owners reported any problem and there were no accidents resulting from the issue."
