Bowater Toyota in the Community

Nelson Arts Festival

Bowater Toyota has been proud to support the Nelson Arts Festival for decades now. We look forward to it each and every year, as our support makes an impact on how the festival logistics fit together. We supply them with our Parts Express cargo van, our BMG Community Mini Bus, and several other smaller hybrids to get around in. The arts are so important to the overall health of the entire community, so we are proud to step up.

Kids Love Music Charitable Trust

The Kids Love Music Charitable Trust is investing in the future of our community by inspiring youngsters and nurturing a passion for music. They collect and redistribute musical instruments to schools and families; they pay for tutoring in some instances; and they support schools. Bowater Toyota is very proud to be helping, and our CEO, Tony Bowater, is so passionate about the cause he is even on their board! The Bowater Family have been keen supporters of music in the region since the days of founder Ray Bowater, who was also a very keen musician!

Nelson Regional Development Agency

Bowaters has been working with the Nelson Regional Development Agency for decades, spanning several different iterations of the agency. Over the past 77 years, we have always been focused on engaging with the wider business community and helping out where we can. Today, this commitment is stronger than ever. We caught up with Fiona, the CEO of the NRDA, to hear about the partnership and what it means.

Mike Pero Nelson Giants

We caught up with Sam Dempster from the Mike Pero Nelson Giants to talk about community support, the 41-year-long Bowaters relationship, and what the help Bowater Toyota actually enables with the vehicle support for the team.

Brook Waimārama Sanctuary

The Brook Waimārama Sanctuary is a multigenerational community asset that Bowaters is very proud to be partnered with. Bowater Toyota is excited to be their vehicle supplier and proud to be looking after their fleet servicing as our contribution to their amazing efforts to bring nature back to Nelson. In the very early days of their fund-raising campaign, they were based in the top showroom of our Rutherford & Hardy Street business (now the home of Bowater Hyundai Isuzu & Renault). We were on board early with adopting a portion of the fence, and we have even had the honour of planting a special tree complete with memorial plaque over the years. We absolutely love this project and are looking forward to the next stage of the sanctuary’s development.

Whenua Iti Outdoors

Mark from Whenua Iti Outdoors knows a thing or two about the impact transportation has on huge segments of our community. Their fleet of vans and buses enables thousands of kids to experience our magnificent region in ways they ordinarily wouldn’t. We love that we can work with them to achieve great outcomes. We are all so much better off for the work that they do.

Always great service with a smile when heading in for a checkup. Nick, Chris and Marty in town are awesome and nothing is ever a problem. Thanks for helping me keep my Hilux on the road (and off the road a bit as well......)! David Eagle
