Using a 150kW public DC fast charger, all bZ4X models can charge from around 10 to 80% in as little as 28 minutes.4
Yes, best practice is to charge at home overnight using a dedicated home charger. Treat your bZ4X like a cellphone and charge it every night, that way you will have a full charge any time the adventure starts. Many New Zealand electricity providers offer EV night-rate power plans, which give cheaper rates during off-peak hours. Charging overnight can significantly reduce your daily running costs compared to petrol.
Since April 2024, all light EVs in New Zealand pay RUCs. Even with RUCs, EVs can cost less per kilometre to run when you combine EV power plans and reduced servicing requirements.
The updated Toyota Safety Sense1 suite includes a Driver Monitor Camera, as well as the existing features designed to help keep you safe: Pre-Collision System, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, Lane Tracing Assist, Adaptive High Beam System and Road Sign Assist.
Every variant benefits from a larger 14" display, cleaner dash and console layout, upgraded multi colour ambient lighting, and refined seating materials. The bZ4X Touring and Motion come with the additional comfort of heated and ventilated seats.
It reflects how much power the motors can deliver. The bZ4X Pure’s 167kW provides smooth, confident acceleration for daily driving, while the bZ4X Motion’s 255kW and the bZ4X Touring’s 280kW deliver stronger, more exhilarating acceleration.
Range can vary significantly based on a number of factors. All bZ4X models and grades utilise the same battery. The bZ4X Pure uses a single motor while Motion and Touring utilise higher output dual motor-systems. Other factors such as wheel size, tyre model, towing capacity, weight, and aerodynamic efficiency all impact achievable range.2
Colour availability varies by grade:
- bZ4X Pure FWD:
Frosted White, Precious Metal, Eclipse, Emotional Red, and Deep Sea Blue.
- bZ4X Motion AWD:
Same five colours as Pure, plus two-tone variations (Eclipse/Frosted White, Eclipse/Precious Metal, Eclipse/Emotional Red and Eclipse/Deep Sea Blue).
- bZ4X Touring AWD:
Crystal White, Ice Silver, Magnetite Grey, Midnight Black, Brilliant Bronze and Sapphire Blue.
