Toyota RAV4 PHEV – Motor Generator ECU Reprogram
Toyota New Zealand is recalling 2,479 RAV4 PHEV vehicles produced between February 2026 and September 2026.
This recall is a precautionary measure to reprogram the Motor Generator computer on certain NZ New 2026 Toyota Rav4 PHEV vehicles. While the chance of a failure is low, in the worst case the vehicle may enter fail safe mode or lose power completely while driving.
This recall will be completed free of charge by Toyota Stores and will take approximately 1 hour to complete.
Toyota New Zealand has identified affected vehicles and owners will be contacted directly by letter after confirming details through registration data.
