Toyota refreshes FJ Cruiser with new colours

Toyota has improved the legendary FJ Cruiser with specification changes including new colours, and an Off-Road Package option for hard core Kiwi adventurers which will be available later in the year.

The bright yellow Sun Fusion, Voodoo Blue, Silver Fresco and Red Fury colours have been replaced by a bold orange Super Nova and revised silver Cement. All exterior colours have a white roof inspired by the legendary FJ40.

Inside the cabin, the rear view mirror-mounted reversing camera display has been enlarged from 2.4 inch to 3.3 inch. The larger size and fixed guidelines improve safety and make reverse parking easier.

Additional 3.5mm AUX and USB input jacks have been added to the dash area, for more convenient connection of portable audio devices.

The newly available Off-Road Package option includes Crawl Control, an 87 litre sub fuel tank, and additional under body protection.

Crawl Control helps to maintain a consistent low vehicle speed when driving over jagged off-road terrain or slippery surfaces, climbing or descending hills, and helps to free the vehicle if it becomes stuck.

By controlling the engine output and brake pressure, the driver is free to concentrate on steering input. The smooth application of this assistance helps to minimise wheel spin and lock up. Five speed levels are available, to match conditions.

The new colours, larger camera display and extra audio connections are available in dealerships now, while the Off-Road Package can be pre-ordered for delivery later in the year.
