Toyota gets behind Valerie Adams' bid for gold

Toyota New Zealand is proud to announce champion shot putter Valerie Adams as its newest Ambassador, and throw its support behind her bid for gold.

Valerie has dominated women's shot put since 2007, winning three World Championships and gold medals at Beijing and two Commonwealth Games.

Toyota New Zealand General Manager of Marketing, Neeraj Lala, says Toyota is proud to welcome Valerie as an Ambassador: "Valerie is an inspirational Kiwi, and is especially known for her work encouraging young New Zealanders to follow their dreams".

"Valerie shares many of Toyota's values. We believe 'if you can dream it, you can do it', and Valerie inspires this country's young athletes through her wins on the world stage, and when she speaks around the country."

Valerie, who is competing in Europe in her final build-up for London, says: "I am delighted to become a Toyota Ambassador. Partnering and having the support of a company which is a champion in its field will be awesome, and I am looking forward to meeting Toyota's community throughout New Zealand in the next two years. I'm really excited to be on board with them."

The partnership with Toyota means that Valerie will drive the unrivalled Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, and her support team a Toyota Rav4, and she will become involved in the company's nationwide activities.
