The 2012 Aurion is Toyota's flagship sedan, featuring premium design and comfort.
This new Aurion was designed to appeal to the rational needs of New Zealand drivers, as well as engaging the emotions with dynamic style and impressive comfort.

EXTERIOR
The 2012 Aurion combines a wide, strong body design and aerodynamic technology to create a dynamic, sporty vehicle.
Aurion's halogen headlights and grille give the appearance of a wide and luxurious vehicle. The thick hood moulding and chrome horizontal bars of Aurion AT-X's grille further enhance this bold premium look. Aurion Touring and Sportivo SX6 feature a mesh grille with body coloured air intakes.
Aurion's side design is clean and dynamic. AT-X and Touring models have chrome side skirt mouldings, while the Sportivo SX6 has flared body coloured skirts.
The prominent rear garnish appears to blend into the rear combination lamps, further emphasising Aurion's wide stance.
The Sportivo SX6 was designed to appeal to the local market's preference for bold and sporty styling. It has an aggressive front design with prominent bumper spoiler and a mesh grille. Rear bumper spoilers and a floating style boot spoiler give the Sportivo SX6 an unmistakably sporty style.
A total of eight exterior colours are available. Diamond White, Silver Pearl, Graphite, Eclipse and Wildfire are offered for all grades, while Magnetic Bronze and Arctic Frost are exclusive to the AT-X. A brand new colour, Reflex is offered for Touring and Sportivo SX6 grades only.
INTERIOR
Quietness
The new model has been carefully constructed from quality materials to create a quiet, more conversation-friendly cabin. This quietness has been achieved by the adoption of acoustic windshield glass, additional insulation between the engine and passenger compartment and optimal placement of sound insulating materials around the body.
Spaciousness
The feeling of spaciousness inside the cabin has been improved thanks to slimmer A and B pillars plus a curved rear ceiling to give rear passengers more headroom.
By moving the front seat hip point forward by 7mm, and the rear seat hip point back by 8mm the distance between front and rear seat passengers has improved. Redesigning the shape of the back of the front seats further improves rear seat space. Most noticeable to rear seat passengers is the 31mm improvement in knee space. Further modifications in the rear offer improved foot-well space.
Trims
Aurion combines luxury features with Toyota's renowned quality and attention to detail to create a prestigious interior.
Toyota has improved the feeling of luxury inside Aurion with quality textures and trims. The upper instrument panel features stitched accent lines, while the audio controls and air conditioning registers have chrome accents for added appeal.
All models have a black interior colour scheme. The Aurion AT-X has 'Techi' fabric seats while the Sportivo SX6 has sports styled 'Dynamic' fabric. The Touring has smooth leather seat material.
Seats
The new Aurion's steering wheel has a wider range of tilt and telescopic adjustments than before, and the driver's seat height adjustment from has increased from 45mm to 60mm, making it easier for all drivers to find their perfect seating position.
All grades have driver's seat power adjustment with lumbar support. The Sportivo SX6 adds front passenger's seat power adjustment to its sportier styled seats.
Unlike the previous Aurion which has fixed rear seats for all grades, the new Aurion offers 60/40 split folding rear seats plus a centre arm rest with cup holders.
Audio
All 2012 Aurion models feature a 6.1" touch screen display audio with six speakers. A 3.5mm auxiliary input jack and USB port allow music from a portable device to be played through the vehicle's speakers. Connecting supported players through the USB port allows track information to be shown on the display screen, with selections made through the vehicle's audio controls.
Aurion's Bluetooth technology allows telephone calls to be made and received safely while driving. Thanks to Bluetooth audio streaming technology, music stored on compatible devices can be played through the vehicle's speakers without the need for cables.
The 6.1" screen uses Enhanced Graphics Adapter (EGA) Thin Film Transister (TFT) technology and can be used to control the audio system, Bluetooth and user customisation functions. The reverse camera display appears on this screen when reverse gear is selected for safer, easier reversing. Air conditioning and trip information can also be displayed.
The Sportivo SX6 has exclusive sports styling with a quick response paddle shift system for the transmission, three spoke leather accented steering wheel, sports pedals and carbon fibre look inserts. The sports style front seats have enlarged side supports and a flared shoulder area to firmly support occupants when cornering.
