Cabbage Picking with Kaibosh

Published 20 March 2026

In late December 2025, a few of our team members were fortunate enough to spend the day out on a local farm supporting Kaibosh, helping to collect cabbage that would have otherwise been left in the field.

Thanks to the efforts of Kaibosh and volunteers on the ground, this perfectly good produce was saved from going unused and instead distributed to local communities. By redirecting surplus food, Kaibosh plays a vital role in ensuring quality, nutritious produce reaches those who need it most.

To support their day-to-day operations, the Kaibosh team uses a Toyota Hilux SR 4WD Hybrid Double Cab to travel between farms and transport rescued food to distribution points. Having a reliable vehicle allows the team to access rural locations and efficiently move surplus produce where it’s needed most.

The day itself was a rewarding and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Beyond the hands-on work, it was a great opportunity for our team to connect, give back, and see first-hand the positive impact that community-focused organisations like Kaibosh make every day.

The main display photo captures our team out in the field helping with the harvest. Farmer Travis (pictured in blue), whose property we collected from, stopped by during the day to check in and generously offered us a ride back to the front of the farm in his trusty Land Cruiser.

This experience was a timely reminder of how important it is to support initiatives that look after people and the planet, reducing food waste while strengthening local communities.

If this is something you’d like to be involved in, we encourage you to reach out to Kaibosh and see how you can volunteer your time to help support your local community.
