Students Take Centre Court at Saints Game

Saturday 18 July was a big night at TSB Arena, with the Wellington Saints securing the win and six young basketball fans getting their own moment on the court.

At halftime, students from Newtown School and Kenakena School stepped under the bright lights to take part in the Rutherford & Bond Toyota and King Toyota[28] shooting challenge. With the crowd behind them, the students put their skills to the test and experienced what it’s like to play on the Saints’ home court.

The excitement didn’t end with the final shot. Both schools received two brand-new basketball hoops to help more students enjoy the game and develop their skills.

The installation of the new hoops at Newtown School and Kenakena School is now underway, and we’re excited to see them completed and put to good use by the students very soon.

A huge thank you to the Wellington Saints, both schools and our six halftime competitors for making it such a memorable night.
