Toyota New Zealand renews partnerships with NZ Olympic Committee and Paralympics NZ

Toyota New Zealand is proud to announce the renewal of its partnership with the New Zealand Olympic Committee (NZOC) and Paralympics New Zealand (PNZ) for another four-year cycle.  

This recommitment reflects Toyota’s ongoing dedication to inclusivity, community, and inspiring the next generation through the power of sport.

Susanne Hardy, Assistant Vice President at Toyota NZ, says the renewed partnership is a natural extension of Toyota’s Let’s Go Places vision. 

“We’re thrilled to continue supporting both the Olympic and Paralympic Movements in New Zealand. These partnerships unite communities, celebrate diversity, and showcase what’s possible through perseverance and performance” says Susanne.

Toyota NZ has partnered with the NZOC and PNZ since 2018 in addition to the global Toyota Olympic and Paralympic partnership. While the global partnership recently came to a close, Toyota New Zealand has agreed to continue to partner at a local level to support Kiwi athletes on the world stage.  

“Toyota helps keep the NZOC’s people and programmes moving while also helping to create connection between Aotearoa’s communities and the New Zealand Team” says NZOC Chief Executive and Secretary General Nicki Nicol. 

As part of the partnership. Toyota will continue to provide a range of hybrid vehicles - including RAV4, Prado, Highlander, and Hilux to keep both NZOC and PNZ teams moving. 

“We are delighted Toyota has renewed its long-standing support for Para sport and the NZ Paralympic Team. This partnership will help Paralympians, aspiring Para athletes, and the wider Paralympic Movement thrive across Aotearoa,” PNZ Chief Executive Officer and Secretary General Greg Warnecke shares. 

Connecting Communities Nationwide 

A key highlight of the partnership is a joint Olympic and Paralympic nationwide community activation programme in the lead-up to the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This initiative will bring fans, schools, and clubs together across New Zealand, celebrating diversity, inclusion, and the inspiration of both Movements. 

Toyota will also remain a major supporter of PNZ’s Seeing is Believing Paralympic Education Programme, which works with primary schools to promote understanding and positive attitudes toward disability, helping create a more inclusive future for all New Zealanders.  

Celebrating the Next Olympic and Paralympic Cycle 

The renewed partnership will support New Zealand athletes through major events including the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, ensuring Kiwi athletes have the backing they need to shine on the world stage. 

Backing Kiwi Inspiration 

Beyond Team support, Toyota sponsors some of New Zealand’s most inspiring athletes, including Dame Lisa Carrington DNZM, Emma Twigg MNZM, David Liti, Dame Valerie Adams DNZM (retired), and Paralympian Cameron Leslie MNZM.
