2019 Toyota Camry rear seat belt locking mechanism recall

News-Article-Toyota-Logo-950x450

Toyota New Zealand is recalling 181 vehicles due to a potential seat belt locking mechanism issue. The model affected is the Toyota Camry manufactured between 19th August 2019 and 11th October 2019.

This is a precautionary measure due to the potential of an incorrectly installed spring. In some instances, one of the two seatbelt retractor locking mechanisms may not operate as designed, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

The remedy will be completed free of charge by Toyota stores and will take approximately 1.5 hours to complete.

Owners of the vehicles, which are traceable through registration data, will be contacted by Toyota New Zealand through a remedy letter.

For further information please contact: 0800 TOYOTA (0800 869 682) or you can search your registration number here to see if it is involved in the recall.
