Toyota 86 recall

Toyota New Zealand is recalling 349 vehicles due to a potential valve-train issue. The model affected is the Toyota 86 manufactured between 10th April 2012 and 16th May 2013.

This is a precautionary measure due to the possibility of valve spring failure under high loads. This could result in the engine stalling while driving and an inability to restart, increasing the safety risk.

The remedy will be completed free of charge by Toyota stores and will take approximately 10 hours to complete.

Owners of the vehicles, which are traceable through registration data, will be contacted by Toyota New Zealand through a remedy owner letter.
