Toyota New Zealand has issued a recall for Toyota Prius PHV’s that were manufactured between July 2011 and January 2015. Currently we are contacting NZTA to identify any NZ vehicles involved.
The electric vehicle fuse may malfunction on the vehicle if it is repeatedly operated in EV mode under high-load driving conditions, such as during a long hill climb. This could result in the hybrid system shutting down causing loss of motive power.
Customer safety is our upmost priority and we will be contacting all vehicle owners that are affected advising them of this recall.
The fuse will be replaced at no cost to the customer and will take approximately 1.5 hours to complete.
