C-HR models recalled to reprogram skid control ECU

Toyota New Zealand is recalling 406 Toyota C-HRs manufactured between December 2016 and October 2017 to reprogram the skid control ECU. There is a possibility that the electronic parking brake (EPB) may not operate properly.

This could cause the electronic parking brake to not disengage after it is applied or prevent it from being applied and in some cases result in illumination of warning lights with a message displaying to visit your local dealer.

The countermeasure will take approximately 1 hour and will be completed free of charge by Toyota dealerships.

Owners of the vehicles - which are traceable through registration data - will be contacted by Toyota New Zealand through a remedy owner letter.
