Corolla GXR earns its stripes
A striking special edition of Toyota’s top selling Corolla Hatch has gone on sale under the new GXR badge.
Based on the GX model with selectable seven speed Continuously Variable Transmission, the Corolla GXR goes on sale with an RSP* of $29,990.
“This is great value for money for customers seeking a point of difference,” said Steve Prangnell, Toyota New Zealand’s General Manager of Sales.
“The Special Edition Corolla Hatch GXR is bound to turn heads. Designed locally and building upon the already impressive GX CVT, this car has been transformed.”
Offering a sharper more athletic look, the GXR sits on sporty metallic matte grey 12 spoke 17 inch alloy wheels with 215/45 R17 tyres. There are side and rear body decals while tinted side and rear windows add an extra level of security and boost street appeal.
In the cabin, the steering wheel and gear knob are wrapped in genuine leather with contrast stitching and there are GXR embroidered front floor mats.
The Corolla GXR is available in five colours, Silver Pearl, Wildfire, Ink, Blue Gem and Glacier White.
Drivers of the GXR can expect the same spacious, high quality and intuitive interior innate to the Corolla Hatch driven by the 1.8-litre petrol engine. Overall fuel consumption is 6.1L/100kms** combined with emissions of 143 g/km.
The Corolla GXR comes with a standard safety package of seven airbags, reversing camera, anti-lock brakes with brake assist, electronic brakeforce distribution, vehicle stability control, traction control and hill start assist. It has a five star ANCAP safety rating.
