Hiace models recalled to advance sliding door lock system

Toyota New Zealand is recalling 92 Toyota Hiace vehicles manufactured between 2015 and 2016 due to a concern with the sliding door locking system.

The design of the sliding door lock is one latch short of meeting specific design rules for international standards. Though the vehicle is compliant in New Zealand, Toyota New Zealand will be adhering to the global recall to ensure the lock aligns with international regulations.

The countermeasure will take approximately 1.5 hours and will be completed free of charge by Toyota dealerships.

Owners of the vehicles - which are traceable through registration data - will be contacted by Toyota New Zealand.
