Fuel pressure sensor recall announced for Toyota and Lexus models

Toyota New Zealand is recalling a number of Toyota and Lexus models due to a possible concern with the fuel pressure sensor.

Impacted models include the Toyota Crown, Toyota Mark X, Lexus GS and Lexus IS manufactured between 2004 and 2007.

The recall is due to the possibility that some of the fuel delivery pipes may have plating particles on the gasket surface of the fuel pressure sensor, which could result in the gasket not sealing correctly.

There are 2,641 Toyota Crown and Toyota Mark X used imports affected, 775 New Zealand new Lexus IS and GS models affected and 331 Lexus IS 250 used import models affected.

Owners of the vehicles, which are traceable through registration data, will be contacted by Toyota New Zealand.

The remedy will be completed free of charge by Toyota and Lexus dealerships and is expected to take approximately 3 to 4 hours.
