Signature Class Sales Buoyant in 2009

The General Manager of Toyota's Used Vehicle Division Spencer Morris said that in tough economic times near new vehicles often became a preference for many car buyers. Signature Class is positioned to satisfy the needs of customers wanting a quality, used vehicle with the reassurance of Toyota's back up and warranty's, said Mr Morris.

Our brand is ideally positioned to take advantage of this situation because Signature Class sales are now strongly biased towards cars first registered in New Zealand. In 2008 these made up around 80 per cent of our mix meaning we are not feeling the effects of the downturn in used import arrival numbers.

Mr Morris said that despite the increased demand for Signature Class vehicles, there was still a good selection of vehicles available across its range, including Corolla, RAV4, Camry, Aurion, Highlander and Land Cruiser Prado.

Each Signature Class vehicle receives a 3 year warranty with unlimited kilometres, 3 years AA Roadservice, and 3 years Warrant of Fitness checks.

Toyota's Signature Class brand is in its eleventh year in New Zealand and now sells enough vehicles per year to be ranked amongst the top new vehicle makes in New Zealand.
