New Prius Miserly On Fuel and CO2 Emissions

New generation Prius is miserly on fuel consumption and emits fewer CO2 emissions than the outgoing model.

Official figures according to ADR81/02 combined results have the new model achieving fuel consumption of 3.9 litres per 100 kilometres, equating to an 11 per cent improvement over the outgoing model (4.4 litres per 100 kilometres).

While these figures are arguably the best fuel economy of any mass produced car, air pollution emissions are also considerably lower than the previous model.

New Prius emits just 89 grams of CO2 per kilometre travelled (ADR81/02 Combined), a 16 per cent improvement over the outgoing model, which emitted 106 grams per kilometre.
