2026/27 Bridgestone GR86 Championship

 
New Zealand’s Leading one-make racing series

2024-25 saw the introduction of the new GR86 race car.  This will be the 14th year of the championship - the first 11 seasons with the hugely successful TR86.

The 86 evokes its inspiration, the iconic AE86 of the 1980s, with superbly balanced handling, free revving engine and a performance oriented rear wheel drive format.

Internationally the GR86 is out on the race track with the successful one-make series also being run in the United States, Australia, Japan, Malaysia and Spain.

PTS Logistics Season Opener

 

Taupo International Motorsport Park, Taupo

 

 

This 3.5km international circuit has proven a challenge for the TRS and A1GP when they ran there. The 830 metre downhill main straight will be one of the fastest in the series but the Turn 9/10 complex will be tight and slow. With elevation changes of 4-5 metres, the fast infield sections can be expected to be a challenge. The main straight is 17 metres wide before the final complex, which means there should be plenty of side by side action at maximum speed.

Ascot Park Hotel International

Teretonga Park, Invercargill

 

FIA most southern track in the world, Teretonga Park offers its own challenges. Extremely fast when mastered, this circuit flows smoothly from turns 1 through to 5. An amazingly long straight leads into a daunting high speed multiple apexes sweeper requiring maximum commitment from all drivers. The circuit is exposed to a strong sea breeze and weather changes often forces setup changes.

NAPA 71st New Zealand Grand Prix

Highlands Motorsport Park, Cromwell

 

The 4.1 km international-standard circuit is located near the township of Cromwell, approximately 50km from tourism mecca Queenstown on New Zealand’s spectacular South Island.
