Australian James Wharton – 21 - will use the Castrol Toyota FR Oceania Trophy as a warm up for his third season in F3 in 2026.
He will run with new team HMD with TJ Speed for his New Zealand campaign. As well as two seasons in FIA F3, Wharton has several seasons experience in Formula 4, in Formula Regional and has raced at the Macau Grand Prix.
Career highlights include winning the Formula 4 UAE Championship in 2023 and finishing runner-up in the Euro F4 Championship in 2023 and the Formula Regional European Championship in 2024.
