New lower stance

A lot's changed on the outside of the new 2017 Toyota 86. Lowering the tip of the vehicle's nose and widening the grille has emphasised the new 2017 8's low, wide stance. Nose fins have added visual aggression and further improved the vehicle's aerodynamics. Perhaps most impressive of all, the vehicle's handling has been improved thanks to newly optimised coil springs for extra stability and comfort; newly enhanced shock absorbers and an increased-diameter stabiliser bar to aid turning performance.

Machined 17-inch alloys

Machined 17-inch alloys

New, 17”, alloy wheels enhance the 86’s sports pedigree. The thin-profile spokes, and a bright machine-finish underline the vehicle’s track-ready looks.

Interior refinements

Driver's display

A driver’s display and steering wheel controls

A 4.2-inch colour Multi-information Display has been added to the GT86, enabling the instant display of information critical to sports driving enthusiasts, including G meter, torque curve and a lap counter/stopwatch. The MID and audio controls can also be changed from the steering wheel.

Attention to detail

Throughout the 86’s new interior you’ll notice touches of class and attention to detail. For example, buckskin (or 'Grand Luxe') pattern upholstery has been adopted on the instrument panel ornamentation, meter hood and door trim. Not only does this look great, but it has a more practical purpose – suppressing the reflection of light from outside to prevent driver distraction.

Rear spoiler

Increased stability

A new aluminium, wing-type rear spoiler replaces the old integrated spoiler and provides increased handling stability. The bottom of the rear bumper has also been lowered, with the rear diffuser widened to better reflect the new, lower, wider stance of the front of the vehicle.
