Conserving and restoring our wildlife

Pūkaha are nationally and internationally recognised as New Zealand’s number one mainland indigenous wildlife sanctuary. The team work together with Rangitane to protect and restore our Ngahere.

TRC Toyota Masterton sponsor the two vehicles of the Rabbit Alliance Program and the team describe it as an “invaluable asset.”

We ensure seamless maintenance of the vehicles so they can focus on doing the important work. Our Ngahere is our Toanga and we are proud to be a part of the effort to protect, restore and educate the community.

Keeping our people safe

The Grassroots Rescue Helicopter team are the respondents to all emergency call outs on and off the road, marine mayday call outs, and bush and mountain search and rescue missions in the Manawatu-Whanganui region. They also deal with hospital-to-hospital transfers, as well as rural and remote medical and accident emergencies.

Manawatu & TRC Toyota have equipped the team with two vehicles that enable them to get to their missions safely and efficiently with enough space for all their equipment.

We keep them safe on the road so they are ready to respond when the community needs help.

Encouraging participation & achievement!

The Kids I Tri'd the Tri Series is a full triathlon event held by the Manawatu Triathlon Club for children aged four to twelve. It gives young Kiwis a chance to get active and, for some, it has sparked passion for sport, with some even going on to compete professionally. We have been a major sponsor for the 'I Tri'd the Tri Series' for 20 years. Our partnership has resulted in around 46,000 kids participating in 86 events since 2004.

“The support has enabled these community events to engage a generation of kids, and their families, in participating in sport and getting them active each summer through the kids Tri-series”, Professor Andy Martin, Head of ITTs committee of Manawatu Triathlon.

Together we have been enhancing the values of encouragement, participation, and achievement for over 20 years!

Supporting art in the community

Centrepoint has been at the creative heart of Palmerston North since 1974. They are known in the professional industry for promoting New Zealand works and being a training ground for theatre practitioners.

Centrepoint is a theatre for the community, by the community.

Manawatu & TRC Toyota sponsor a van that allows the team to pick up and transport set props, costumes and sometimes people, around the Manawatu. Debbie is also on the board of trustees, offering her much-valued business acumen and support.

Our relationship “is the real meaning of community. Centrepoint Theatre is here for the community, Manawatu Toyota is also all about community, making our place safer and more vibrant”, Kate Elliott, General Manager of Centrepoint Theatre.

Raising the next generation of drivers

KartSport provides a growth environment for youth to participate in healthy competition and helps them develop driving skills as well as a sense of responsibility for their vehicles and others on the road.

Manawatu & TRC Toyota have sponsored KartSport Manawatu ever since Debbie, Brendon and Fraser acquired the business over 20 years ago.

“The Manawatu Toyota branding has become iconically associated with the sport and instantly recognizable for our competitors nationwide”, James Hadley, Chief Operating Officer, Kartsport New Zealand.

KartSport rewards ambition, drive, inclusion, and continuous improvement; all core values of the international Toyota brand.

We fully support the work the karting community is doing in nurturing the next generation of Kiwi drivers.

Backing our team on the road, and on the court

The Property Brokers Jets have been representing the wider Manawatu region in the New Zealand National Basketball League since 1982.

We have been a part of the Jets family since 2020, and it has been such a pleasure to see the team grow over the past few years. In 2023, we became Game Day Partners, amping up the atmosphere for our Property Brokers Jets for all their home games throughout the 2023 season.

This year, our support has allowed the team to get out in the community through various programs like their Kiwi Hoops participant program with 1,240 students.

“Manawatu Toyota’s passion for our region, and alignment with organisations looking to create opportunities for our young people, makes us great partners.” – Caleb Brown, Property Broker’s The Jets General Manager.

Supporting local schools

TRC Toyota Feilding have supported Feilding High School’s 1st XV Rugby team for the past 17 years. “During that time, we have been able to give many students opportunities through rugby.” – Justin Lock, FAHS Rugby Coach.

We have a wall in the Feilding showroom dedicated to showcasing all the generations of students we’ve supported. We have even run out of space!

Three former FAHS rugby players are currently in the All Blacks. Sam Whitelock, Aaron Smith, and Codie Taylor represented New Zealand at the Rugby World Cup 2023 in France. Each year, we support students selected for the Hurricanes Super Rugby U18 camp, who will go on to be the next generation of New Zealand Rugby superstars and will come out with a clear pathway for a future in professional rugby.

TRC Toyota Feilding have supported students to go from local legends to international superstars!

Keeping local beaches safe

Every summer, TRC Toyota Whanganui supports The Whanganui Surf Life Guard service.

The WSLS has been safeguarding Whanganui’s beaches for more than 100 years and is one of the oldest clubs in New Zealand. They currently have a total of 146 lifeguards. For the 2020 to 2022 season, the club has only performed 4 rescues and performed 5,374 preventative actions to keep drownings at zero.

Our support aids the team in patrolling Castlecliff Beach and Mowhanua Beach, assisting our community to enjoy our beaches safely during the busy summer months.
