NADI Takata airbag recall

We have recently been made aware that Takata has identified an issue with certain 'non-azide airbag inflators' which fall outside the current Takata Airbag recall. We have confirmed 345 currently registered vehicles that were originally sold as a NZ new vehicle, are affected. These are made up of Echo, Celica and RAV4 models manufactured between 1997 and 1999.

We are yet to confirm the number of affected Toyota vehicles that were independently imported outside of the Toyota network.

Owners of the vehicles, which are traceable through registration data, will be contacted by Toyota New Zealand in due course.
