Toyota Improves Tough and Reliable Hilux Range

Toyota New Zealand has revealed early information of the new 2012 Hilux which will be available in Toyota showrooms later this month.

Toyota New Zealand General Manager of Sales and Operations, Steve Prangnell said "Hilux has built its reputation around being unbreakable. We're taking the tough and reliable truck that so many New Zealanders love and making it even better with a fresh line-up, improved safety and bold new looks".

"These latest changes will substantially improve the value of Hilux for our customers and further strengthen Hilux's position as New Zealand's favourite truck."

A new model has been added to the Hilux range - a standard grade 4WD extra cab ute with a 3.0 litre turbo diesel engine and a five-speed manual transmission.

"We have been negotiating to secure this new model for some time, so this is a great win for us. The light truck market in New Zealand is very diverse and this new truck means we'll be able to meets the needs of more business and private customers," said Mr Prangnell.

All Hiluxs come with an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) as standard while all 4WD double cab models now have Vehicle Stability Control (VSC).

Mr Prangnell said, "Kiwi's appreciate Hilux for its versatility and use it both as a weekday workhorse and a family car on the weekends. We believe this new Hilux offer even better value and comes with the specifications required to make it accessible to even more New Zealanders".
