To ensure your Toyota stays in peak operating condition we recommend you carry out the following basic checks on a regular basis.
Engine oil level. We suggest you check the oil level in your vehicle every time you refuel your vehicle. For the grade of oil specific to your vehicle please refer to your owner’s manual or talk to your servicing dealer. Under normal driving conditions some oil consumption is acceptable. This will vary between petrol and diesel engines*. To get a true reading the vehicle should be on a level surface. After turning off the engine, wait for a few minutes for oil to drain back into the bottom of the engine, remove dipstick, wipe, re-insert, remove once again and inspect indicator.
Water (Coolant) level.
The level should be between the cold and hot marks on the radiator’s see-through reservoir. If regular topping-up is required the cooling system may have a leak. Have it checked immediately.
Windscreen washer bottle. Windscreen washer additives help prevent smearing. Also regularly wipe the wiper blade rubbers with a cloth or tissue.
Tyre pressure, including the spare. We suggest you check the tyre pressures monthly.
Brake and clutch fluid.
Some topping up may be required as the brake pads wear. It is important to carry out these checks regularly. Also take note of any oil or fluid stains on the ground where you park your vehicle and contact your Toyota dealer if you have any concerns.
